Toshiba EO class locomotive (shell) - NZ120
The EO (originally EA) class locomotives were introduced in 1968 for the Otira - Arthur’s Pass section of the Midland Line, which consists of the Otira Tunnel. The locomotives replaced the older EO class built by English Electric, which had been in service since the tunnel opened in 1923. The new EOs lasted until the tunnel’s electrification was removed in 1997. Three of the locomotives saw use in Wellington from 2008 to 2011, when all but one were withdrawn and scrapped.
Design by Stuart McMurray, produced by 3 Foot 6 Models under license.
Measurements: 93mm long x 23mm wide x26.8mm high
