The NZR TR class locomotives are a group of small shunting tractors (hence the classification “TR”) that were once a common sight across the New Zealand rail network. This model represents the TR class's final iteration, built at NZR’s Hillside workshops in Dunedin between 1973 and 1978. A handful of these locomotives remain in service today.
